10-Day Best of Rwanda
Embark on a captivating 10-day journey, the “Best of Rwanda” tour, immersing yourself in the country’s cultural and natural wonders. Explore Kigali’s historical landmarks, venture into Akagera National Park for thrilling game drives, track chimpanzees in Nyungwe National Park, and experience the awe-inspiring mountain gorillas in Volcanoes National Park. Conclude with relaxation by Lake Kivu before departing from Kigali.
Day 1:
Fly into Kigali, Upon arrival, you will obtain your visa right at the airport, after immigration formalities you will be met by Gerrytours–safaris representative.
Transfer to Kigali Serena Hotel for Lunch.
PM city tour, places of interest includes: Richard Kandt House, embryo of Kigali– first House built by the first German explorer into Rwanda, inner city of Kigali, Gisozi Genocide Memorial site: The Holocaust Museum.

Day 2:
After an early breakfast, Drive east for around two hours to Akagera National Park. Game drive.

Day 3:
1/2 Day Game Drive and boat ride on Lake Ihema: Lunch, then enjoy the scenic transfer back to Kigali.

Day 4:
After an early breakfast drive south–west to the wonderful Nyungwe National Park.
We will stop briefly in Nyanza to visit the traditional ancient palace of the Mwami (Rwandan king) and enjoy Rwanda traditional Dance before heading south to Butare, where we will take lunch, with the chance to purchase handicrafts.
PM visit the Rwanda National Museum.
Proceed to Nyungwe for overnight.

Day 5:
Chimp trekk: This morning the pace of the walk will change as we try to track Chimpanzee.
PM we will do the Igishigishigi trail which include the Nyungwe Canopy Walk.

Day 6:
After breakfast, enjoy a scenic drive to Volcano National Park

Day 7:
After breakfast report to Volcano National Park office, undergo registration formalities to visit the rare golden monkeys;
Rest of the day to visit the nearby villages and local communities (recommended).

Day 8:
After breakfast, you will proceed to Volcano National Park office and meet with your excellent local guides for your first Mountain Gorilla trekking.
PM Enjoy the scenic transfer to Gisenyi.

Relax and swim in the clean and serene beautiful Lake Kivu.

Day 9:
Option can be a second Gorilla trekking, visiting a different Gorilla Family.
Or, a Day at leisure in Gisenyi on a private Lake Kivu Serena Beach.

After Breakfast, enjoy the scenic drive back to Kigali, Transfer to the airport to catch your flight back home.
